Installation covets surf culture.  Perhaps it’s because our office is only a few miles from the Santa Monica beach, or maybe it’s because our debut issue celebrated California– the birthplace of skateboarding and a leading surfing capital.  We’re pleased to collaborate with online auction house Paddle8 this week as they celebrate the end of the summer season with Surf, featuring works by Richard Phillips, Hiroshi Sugimoto, Massimo Vitali, iconic surf culture photographers LeRoy Grannis, Michael Dweck, Matt Cusick, Rob Wynne, Peter Dayton, and Slim Aarons.  Soak in the nostalgia of the surf lifestyle and take your pick from fine art, photography and custom surfboards or you can snag a buy-it-now towel by artists Peter Doig  and John Baldessari.  Paddle8 collaborated with Grey Area to create the original beach towels that are sure to make you a standout on the sand.  Just like summer Surf won’t last for long.  Be sure to place your bids the final day of the auction, September 4 at 6 PM EST.
