Otcasek studied at the Columbus College of Art and Design (Columbus, OH) where he focused on painting and Art History.  Informed both by his traditional art background and 17 years as an Art Director and Lead Artist in the video games industry – Otcasek takes a bold and confident look at subjects we might overlook or so often take for granted.  Chris states, “I’m not interested in mocked up scenes or invented moments. I stumble on things ‘as they are’ and focus on anything I find too perfect or important to ignore.”

Otcasek has exhibited his LowRes series at Gallery Brown (2011, LA), Elizabeth Gordon Gallery (2012, Santa Barbara), and Gallery 825 (2011-13, LA) among others.  His works have been included in group shows juried by Mills Moran of OHWOW Gallery (LA), Timothy Potts, Director of the Getty Museum (LA), and Charlie Manzo of the Gagosian Gallery (NY) to name a few.  Since 2012, Otcasek’s work has been included in The Art of Elysium’s annual Pieces of Heaven charity auction – an organization dedicated to enriching the lives of artists and critically ill children.  His award winning photographs can also be found in private and corporate collections across the country.
