Rolex Mentor & Protégé Arts Initiative
In a day and age when it seems that the tradition of masters and students has long since past, Rolex’s philanthropic Mentor & Protégé Arts Initiative persists in the desire of continuing this teaching method. Since its advent in 2002, each year the Rolex committee located in Geneva undergoes a highly selective process choosing both Mentors and Protégés for the year long program. The committee chooses mentors from a global pool of eminent artists in the categories of visual arts, film, literature, dance, music, theatre, and architecture. There is no application process for this program, as both mentors and proteges are chosen by the committee’s research.
