Just as we have featured artworks available for purchase to inspire the Installation reader to collect, Zona MACO was founded on the belief that artwork should be affordable. The initiative “Less than 2,500 USD” created by Zélika García, founder and director of Zona MACO, aims to encourage art collecting among the youth of Mexico. As brand partners of the fair, Tequila 1800 and Purificación García, have demonstrated a commitment to fostering emerging talent by offering two significant prizes that celebrate the diversity of the exhibiting artists. “Colección 1800” presents an artist with one or multiple works of art valued at 40,000 USD. Purificación García grants 10,000 USD to the winning artist who must have been born in or currently resides in Latin America.
